OMEP belongs to the advisory group “Early childhood and sustainable development, towards a comprehensive care strategy” of the Fund for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG Fund) of the United Nations in Argentina

On August 24th , 2020, the first meeting of the Advisory Council of the Program “Early childhood and sustainable development, towards a comprehensive care strategy” of the Fund for the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations was held, chaired by Fabiola Yáñez, First Lady of Argentina.The council is made up of representatives of CSOs, the State, the private sector, trade unions and UN agencies; with the idea of ​​integrating multi sectoral perspectives to generate initiatives that guarantee the rights of boys and girls. “Among its main objectives, it stands out to provide proposals, initiatives, topics for debate, to advance the agenda of full guarantee of the rights of girls and boys during early childhood. It is a space for advising the Steering Committee and coordinating the ODS Fund as well as for visibility and advocacy to position early childhood at the center of the public agenda. ” (UNICEF Argentina press release)

Mercedes Mayol Lassalle, has participated in this, the first meeting of the council on behalf of OMEP and Civil Society Organizations. Taking into account the project proposal, the council will continue to hold specific thematic meetings related to early childhood care and rights.
