New Scholar Award

Young Researchers Award

The OMEP New Scholar Award is a world project of OMEP, created in 2019, that promotes study and research related to early childhood education and care in order to facilitate understanding of the rights and needs of young children worldwide.

It has the support of the OMEP National Committee of the Republic of Korea and has an Evaluation Committee made up of Udomluck Kulapichitr, OMEP VP for Asia Pacific; Soonhwan Kim and Min Young Jang of OMEP Korea; Sandie Wong from OMEP Australia; Catherine Carroll-Meehan from OMEP UK and Gabriela Etchebehere from OMEP Uruguay. 

Each year the OMEP New Scholar Award Committee reviews abstracts and selects up to two applications for award: one for a postgraduate student (during masters or doctoral degree) and one for an early career researcher (within 5 years from gaining doctoral degree). Winners will receive their award at OMEP’s World Annual Conference. The amount of award is US$500 for post a graduate student winner and US$1,000 for an early career researcher winner.
